Isagenix Natural Creamy Chocolate Dessert Balls

It's an old saying but a good one: "Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first."

So what better way to start the Gourmet Spy's recipe file than with dessert? And not just any dessert, but one that's genuinely good for you. I kid you not. These Isagenix creamy chocolate dessert balls are good for you. Vitamins. Minerals. Protein. Good fat. If you're not an Isagenix consumer, don't fret. My favorite apple pie recipe is coming soon. The pie won't be nearly as good for you. But I sure do love the taste! But back to our chocolate dessert balls.

These dessert balls are great for those occasions when you want a bite of something sweet and satisfying, but don't want the calories of a full serving of dessert.

Isagenix Natural Creamy ChocolateIf you don't know about Isagenix health and wellness products, click HERE. Wendy and I have been fans since 2008. Bar none, they are the finest products on the market today. Isagenix wrote the book on nutritional cleansing. Not only that, their protein shakes are formulated from organic, undenatured, Grade 7 New Zealand whey protein (the highest in the world and unique to Isagenix). And their Natural Creamy Chocolate forms the basis of these unbelievably heavenly dessert balls. So let's get started. My mouth is watering. (BTW, if you want to know more about ordering Isagenix, send me an email and we'll be in touch.)

Here's what you'll need:

1/2 cup raw almonds (soaked in water overnight)
2 scoops Isagenix creamy chocolate shake powder
1 scoop Isapro (the Isagenix Grade 7 whey protein powder)
2 Tb unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tb light olive oil
2 Tb honey (dipping your measuring spoon in hot water first will keep honey from sticking to spoon)
1/4 cup desiccated coconut

Preparation: okay, this is the fun part. Think back to those days when you made mud balls out in the back yard. Well, this is going to be a lot like that. It's one of those get-your-hands-dirty kind-of jobs that is loads of fun. The good news: unlike mud balls, with these you can lick your fingers when you're done and actually enjoy it. Here's what you do:

(1) Drain almonds and blend in blender or food processor to a rough meal.

(2) Combine all ingredients (except coconut) in bowl and mix well.

(3) Roll into one-inch balls. Recipe makes 18-24 (depending on how many you eat along the way. Or how big an inch is to you!).

(4) Coat balls in coconut.

Refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze in zip-lock bag or sealed container.
